Availability not clear, although account referred to in index. •Synonym of Catostomus catostomus (Forster 1773), but a valid subspecies -- (Berg 1949:478 [ref. 20661], Chereshnev 1996:601 [ref. 24659], Naseka 1998:93 [ref. 23590], Pervozvansky 1999:567 [ref. 24877], Chereshnev et al. 2001:39 [ref. 26736] dated 1814, Scharpf 2006:5 [ref. 30386]). •Synonym of Catostomus catostomus (Forster 1773) -- (Scott & Crossman 1998:532 [ref. 24570], Parin et al. 2014:98 [ref. 33547]). •Synonym of Catostomus catostomus (Forster 1773), subspecies catostomus -- (Gilbert 1998:198 [ref. 23395]). •Valid as Catostomus rostratus (Tilesius 1813) -- (Dyldin et al. 2020:112 [ref. 37569], Dyldin et al. 2023:[2] [ref. 40328]). Current status: Valid as Catostomus rostratus (Tilesius 1813). Catostomidae: Catostominae. Distribution: North Asia: Arctic Ocean basin in the Indigirka, Alazeya, Kolyma and Yana drainages (Russia). Habitat: freshwater.
