Paralectotypes: ANSP 3951-59 (9). Type catalog: Gilbert 1978:40 [ref. 7042], Böhlke 1984:74 [ref. 13621], Gilbert 1998:69 [ref. 23395]. Original genus should have been Hypsolepis. Lectotype established by Fowler 1910:284 [ref. 19840] and 1918:31 [ref. 11665]. •Synonym of Notropis cornutus (Mitchill 1817) -- (Gilbert 1978:40 [ref. 7042]). •Synonym of Luxilus cornutus (Mitchill 1817) -- (Gilbert 1998:69 [ref. 23395]). Current status: Synonym of Luxilus cornutus (Mitchill 1817). Leuciscidae: Pogonichthyinae. Habitat: freshwater.
