Type catalog: Henn 1928:71 [ref. 12305], Böhlke 1953:30 [ref. 12291], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:7 [ref. 12367]. •Mention -- (Pethiyagoda 1991:25 [ref. 20075]). •Synonym of Amblypharyngodon melettinus (Valenciennes 1844) -- (Talwar & Jhingran 1991:336 [ref. 20764], Menon 1999:32 [ref. 24904]). •Valid as Amblypharyngodon grandisquamis Jordan & Starks 1917 -- (Sudasinghe et al. 2019:25 [ref. 36481]). Current status: Valid as Amblypharyngodon grandisquamis Jordan & Starks 1917. Danionidae: Rasborinae. Distribution: Lowland floodplain of Sri Lanka. Habitat: freshwater.
