Current status: Valid as Oryzias carnaticus (Jerdon 1849). Adrianichthyidae: Oryziinae. Distribution: Southern Asia: eastern India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Andaman Islands. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
