A.] 1913:160 [Revue de Zoologie Africaine v. 2 (fasc. 2); ref. 14944] Dungu, at the Kibali-Dungu River junction, 3°37'N, 28°34'E, northeastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Syntypes: BMNH 1912.12.6.15 (1), MRAC 1801-02 (1, 1). •Synonym of Epiplatys chevalieri (Pellegrin 1904), but a valid subspecies nigricans (Boulenger 1913) -- (Wildekamp 1996:49 [ref. 23649], Lazara 2001:103 [ref. 25711], van der Zee et al. 2013:414 [ref. 32829]). •Valid as Epiplatys nigricans (Boulenger 1913) -- (Huber 2024:30 [ref. 41036]). Current status: Valid as Epiplatys nigricans (Boulenger 1913). Nothobranchiidae. Distribution: Central Africa: upper Congo River basin, Democratic Republic of Congo And Republic of Congo. Habitat: freshwater.
