Lectotype selected by Boeseman 1947:157 [ref. 12876]. •Valid as Gnathopogon elongatus (Temminck & Schlegel 1846), subspecies elongatus -- (Kuroda 1953:275 [ref. 39545], Okada 1961:424 [ref. 6363], Sato 1995:50 [ref. 25531], Matsuura et al. 2000:82 [ref. 26000], Nakabo 2002:268 [ref. 26001]). •Valid as Gnathopogon elongatus (Temminck & Schlegel 1846) -- (Bănărescu & Nalbant 1967:346 [ref. 20623], Sawada in Masuda et al. 1984:56 [ref. 6441], Kawanabe & Mizuno 1989:298 [ref. 25598], Naseka 1996:153 [ref. 22943], Watanabe 1998:263 [ref. 23491], Mizuno et al. 1999:6 [ref. 25311], Nakabo 2000:268 [ref. 25086]). Current status: Valid as Gnathopogon elongatus (Temminck & Schlegel 1846). Gobionidae. Distribution: East Asia: Japan. Habitat: freshwater.
