Holotype: USNM 74466. Paratypes: CAS-SU 14903 (163). Type catalog: Gilbert 1998:130 [ref. 23395]. •Synonym of Hesperoleucas symmetricus (Baird & Girard 1854), but a valid subspecies -- (Gilbert 1998:130 [ref. 2339], Scharpf 2005:20 [ref. 28940]). •Synonym of Lavinia symmetricus (Baird & Girard 1854), but a valid subspecies -- (Moyle 2002:140 [ref. 26449]). •Valid as Hesperoleucus parvipinnis Snyder 1913 -- (Baumsteiger & Moyle 2019:236 [ref. 36443], Page et al. 2023:70 [ref. 40505]). Current status: Valid as Hesperoleucus parvipinnis Snyder 1913. Leuciscidae: Laviniinae. Distribution: Western North America: Gualala River drainage, Sonoma County, California (U.S.A.). Habitat: freshwater.
