Paratypes: CAS 46959 [ex IU 12029] (1), 60712 [ex IU] (1), FMNH 53193 [ex IU 12029] (1). Type catalog: Henn 1928:74 [ref. 12305], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:44 [ref. 12367], Ferraris 2007:171 [ref. 29155]. Appeared first as name only in Eigenmann 1910:394 [ref. 1224]. •Valid as Doras micropoeus (Eigenmann 1912) -- (Burgess 1989:223 [ref. 12860], Le Bail et al. 2000:44 [ref. 24549] as cf. micropoeus, Sabaj & Ferraris in Reis et al. 2003:460 [ref. 27061], Ferraris 2007:171 [ref. 29155], Sabaj Pérez & Birindelli 2008:209 [ref. 29739], DoNascimiento 2016:531 [ref. 34727]). Current status: Valid as Doras micropoeus (Eigenmann 1912). Doradidae: Doradinae. Distribution: Essequibo, Demerara and Corantijn River basins, and possibly other drainages to mouth of Amazon River: French Guiana, Guyana and Suriname; ? Venezuela. Habitat: freshwater.
