Paratypes: CAS 64579 [ex IU 13810] (2), FMNH 58097 (1). Type catalog: Henn 1928:80 [ref. 12305], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:72 [ref. 12367], Ferraris 2007:417 [ref. 29155]. Appeared initially as dorsotriatum but as dorsostriatum in other Eigenmann publications; dorsotriatus regarded as a typographical error by WNE, Ferraris 2007:418 [ref. 29155] who disagrees. •Valid as Trichomycterus dorsostriatum (Eigenmann 1917) -- (Burgess 1989:322 [ref. 12860], García-Melo et al. 2016:237 [ref. 34471], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:69 [ref. 35633]). •Valid as Trichomycterus dorsostriatus (Eigenmann 1971) -- (de Pinna & Wosiacki in Reis et al. 2003:281 [ref. 27061], Ferraris 2007:417-418 [ref. 29155] as dorsotriatus and dated 1918, Urbano-Bonilla et al. 2018:77 [ref. 35773]). Current status: Valid as Trichomycterus dorsostriatus (Eigenmann 1917). Trichomycteridae: Trichomycterinae. Distribution: River drainages in Villavicencio, Colombia. Habitat: freshwater.
