coecus, Polynemus Macleay [W.] 1878:354, Pl. 9 (fig. 1) [Proceedings of the Linnean Society of New South Wales v. 2 (pt 4); ref. 17573] Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. Syntypes: AMS I.9791 (1), I.16295-001 [ex MAMU F325] (1). Type catalog: Stanbury 1969:206 [ref. 19518] as caecus and incorrectly with a holotype. Original spelling appears to be coecus. •Synonym of Eleutheronema tetradactylum (Shaw 1804) -- (Larson & Williams 1997:365 [ref. 23967], Motomura et al. 2002:52 [ref. 25954], Motomura 2004:2 [ref. 27601], Motomura 2004:16 [ref. 27970], Hoese et al. 2006:1252 [ref. 29092], Larson et al. 2013:147 [ref. 32988], Kottelat 2013:353 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Synonym of Eleutheronema tetradactylum (Shaw 1804). Polynemidae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
