Syntypes: BMNH 1858.4.21.34 (1), 1858.4.21.240 (1), 1858.4.21.262 (1). Based on specimens and on Mesoprion lineolatus of Bleeker 1849:46 [ref. 318]. •Synonym of Lutjanus biguttatus (Valenciennes 1830) -- (Allen & Talbot 1985:22 [ref. 6491], Allen 1985:62 [ref. 6843], Kottelat 2013:341 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Synonym of Lutjanus biguttatus (Valenciennes 1830). Lutjanidae: Lutjaninae. Habitat: marine.
