List as the holotype by Günther 1861but differs considerably in total length to that given by Richardson; Maclaine email 10/25/2012. •Synonym of Bidyanus welchi (McCulloch & Waite 1917) -- (Paxton et al. 1989:532 [ref. 12442]). •Incertae sedis in Terapontidae -- (Allen et al. 2006:1343 [ref. 29004]). Current status: Uncertain as Bidyanus welchi (McCulloch & Waite 1917). Terapontidae. Habitat: freshwater.
