Current status: Valid as Lethrinus scoparius Gilchrist & Thompson 1908. Lethrinidae: Lethrininae. Distribution: Southwestern Indian Ocean: Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa) north to southern Mozambique. Habitat: brackish, marine.
