Paratypes: (35 of following) BMNH 1960.9.30.7846-7880 (35), 1960.9.30.7881-90 (10); IRSNB 344 (10); MRAC 114117-30 (14). Type catalog: Walschaerts 1987:32 [ref. 20755], Derijst 1991:50 [ref. 21528]. •Valid as Neolamprologus meeli (Poll 1948) -- (Maréchal & Poll 1991:283 [ref. 20946], Schelly et al. 2003:3 [ref. 27431]). •Valid as Lepidiolamprologus meeli (Poll 1948) -- (Konings 2015:350 [ref. 34660], Konings 2019:370 [ref. 36983]). Current status: Valid as Lepidiolamprologus meeli (Poll 1948). Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: northern Lake Tanganyika. Habitat: freshwater.
