Type catalog: Howell Rivero 1938:203 [ref. 22926]. Sakai & Nakabo show that Poey's type is not MCZ 21712 •Synonym of Kyphosus vaigiensis (Quoy & Gaimard 1825) -- (Knudsen & Clements 2013:65 [ref. 33031]). •Synonym of Kyphosus incisor (Cuvier 1831) -- (Desoutter 1973:421 [ref. 7203], Desoutter 1990:832 [ref. 18967], Sakai & Nakabo 2014:279 [ref. 33211]). Current status: Synonym of Kyphosus vaigiensis (Quoy & Gaimard 1825). Kyphosidae. Habitat: marine.
