Paratypes: not researched. •Valid as Selenotoca papuensis Fraser-Brunner 1938 -- (Kottelat et al. 1993:122 [ref. 23448], Tyler & Sorbini 1999:370 [ref. 25312], Parenti 2004:3 [ref. 27605]). •Synonym of Selenotoca multifasciata (Richardson 1846) -- (Kottelat 2001:3626 [ref. 26299], Kottelat 2013:439 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Synonym of Selenotoca multifasciata (Richardson 1846). Scatophagidae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Sulawesi and Papua New Guinea. Habitat: brackish, marine.
