voltae, Micralestes Roman [B.] 1966:67, Pl. 3 (figs. 5-6) [Annales, Musée Royal de l'Afrique Centrale, Tervuren, Série in 8o, Sciences Zoologiques No. 150; ref. 9061] Niamé, stream flowing into Kou River, tributary of the Black Volta River, about 20 kilometers from Bobo-Dioulasso, West Africa. Holotype: MRAC 141158. Paratypes: MNHN 1967-0669 (2); MRAC 141159 (1, allotype), 141180-92 (13), 141167-79 (13), 141160-66 (7). Other material: MRAC 141260 (1), 153163-64 (2). •Valid as Micralestes voltae Roman 1966 -- (Paugy 1984:178 [ref. 6183]). •Synonym of Micralestes occidentalis (Günther 1899) -- (Paugy in Lévêque et al. 1990:224 [ref. 21589], Lévèque et al. 1991:139 [ref. 31367]). Current status: Synonym of Micralestes occidentalis (Günther 1899). Alestidae. Distribution: Africa. Habitat: freshwater.
