Lectotype: ZMH 17035. Appeared first in French vernacular as 'Pomacentre noir' in Liénard 1839:34 [ref. 17536] and Liénard 1840:297 [ref. 30337] and as name only in other references. Lectotype selected by Fricke 1999:386 [ref. 24106]. Name dates to Bleeker 1879 as above according to Fricke 1999:386 [ref. 24106] but wrongly with Liénard as author. •Appeared first in French vernacular as 'Pomacentre noir' in Liénard 1839:34 [ref. 17536] and Liénard 1840:297 [ref. 30337], Pomacentridae: Microspathodontinae.
