Current status: Synonym of Coris formosa (Bennett 1830). Labridae. Distribution: Red Sea; western Indian Ocean: East Africa and Natal (South Africa), Seychelles, Madagascar and western Mascarenes east to Sri Lanka [if valid]. IUCN (2010): Least concern.
