Type catalog: Ferraris & Vari 1992:25 [ref. 19771], Ferraris 2007:219 [ref. 29155]. •Synonym of Ancistrus brevifilis Eigenmann 1920, but a valid subspecies as described -- (Pérez & Viloria 1994:106 [ref. 22094]). •Valid as Ancistrus bodenhameri Schultz 1944 -- (Isbrücker 1980:66 [ref. 2303], Burgess 1989:436 [ref. 12860], Isbrücker 2001:27 [ref. 25653], Isbrücker 2002:11 [ref. 27178], Fisch-Muller in Reis et al. 2003:374 [ref. 27061], Ferraris 2007:219 [ref. 29155], DoNascimiento 2016:539 [ref. 34727]). •Synonym of Ancistrus matini Schultz 1944 -- (Taphorn et al. 2013:351 [ref. 32678]).
