Current status: Valid as Scorpaenopsis cotticeps Fowler 1938. Scorpaenidae: Scorpaeninae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: Gulf of Aden, Somalia and Seychelles east to Philippines, north to Japan, south to Queensland (Australia). Habitat: marine.
