alexandrae, Cottocomephorus grewingki Taliev [D. N.] 1935:64, Pl. 1 (fig. 4) [Trudy Baikal'skoi limnologischeskoi stantsii = Travaux de la Station limnologique du Lac Baikal v. 6; ref. 15741] Lake Baikal near Marituy village, Russia, depth 500 meters. Syntypes: (7, ex Baikal Limnological Station) ZIN (none found in 1996 and not in The Baikal Museum). Original grewingki should have been grewingkii. Sideleva 2001:58 [ref. 26181] and 2003:165 [ref. 27815] names a lectotype [ZIN 36608] (in 2006 called neotype), but that specimen was not captured until 1949; it would probably make the best neotype if one is needed. •Synonym of Cottocomephorus grewingkii (Dybowski 1874), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Taliev 1955:287 [ref. 4316], Sideleva 1998:150 [ref. 23595]). •Synonym of Cottocomephorus grewingkii (Dybowski 1874) -- (Berg 1949:1173 [ref. 20662] as grewingki, Bogdanov 2019:231 [ref. 36814]). •Valid as Cottocomephorus alexandrae Taliev 1935 -- (Bogutskaya et al. 2001:46 [ref. 26178], Sideleva 2001:58 [ref. 26181], Sideleva 2003:16, 165 [ref. 27815], Bogutskaya & Naseka 2004:192 [ref. 28183], Goto et al. 2014:[15] [ref. 33456], Dyldin et al. 2020:115 [ref. 37569]). Current status: Valid as Cottocomephorus alexandrae Taliev 1935. Cottidae. Distribution: North Asia: Lake Baikal, but mainly in northern part (Russia). Habitat: freshwater.
