Type catalog: Henn 1928:68 [ref. 12305], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:39 [ref. 12367], Vari & Howe 1991:23 [ref. 19022]. •Valid as Mimagoniates melanogenys (Eigenmann 1911) -- (Schultz 1959:10 [ref. 39721]). •Valid as Glandulocauda melanogenys Eigenmann 1911 -- (Menezes & Weitzman 1990:384 [ref. 16172], Weitzman in Reis et al. 2003:225 [ref. 27061], Menezes et al. 2008:38 [ref. 31161]). •Synonym of Glandulocauda melanopleura (Ellis 1911) -- (Menezes & Weitzman 2009:309 [ref. 30495] in Glandulocaudinae). Current status: Synonym of Glandulocauda melanopleura (Ellis 1911). Characidae: Stevardiinae. Habitat: freshwater.
