Type catalog: Whitehead & Talwar 1976:162 [ref. 23762], Ferraris et al. 2000:296 [ref. 25110]. Lectotype selected by Menon 1977:41 [ref. 7071]. Reasons for loss of ZSI type specimens during WWII see Chopra 1947:349-350 [ref. 33077]. •Valid as Cynoglossus dispar Day 1877 -- (Menon 1977:40 [ref. 7071], Manilo & Bogorodsky 2003:S123 [ref. 27377], Psomadakis et al. 2015:329 [ref. 34104], Fricke et al. 2017:84 [ref. 35160]). Current status: Valid as Cynoglossus dispar Day 1877. Cynoglossidae: Cynoglossinae. Distribution: India and Pakistan. Habitat: marine.
