Type catalog: Ferraris 2007:286 [ref. 29155]. Original genus is correctly Chaetostoma. Also published in Günther (Sept.) 1868:231, Pl. 21 [ref. 5756]. •Valid as Pseudacanthicus fordii (Günther 1868) -- (Isbrücker 1980:76 [ref. 2303], Burgess 1989:438 [ref. 12860], Isbrücker 2001:26, 31 [ref. 25653], Isbrücker 2002:27 [ref. 27178], Fisch-Muller in Reis et al. 2003:393 [ref. 27061], Ferraris 2007:286 [ref. 29155], Fisch-Muller et al. 2012:189 [ref. 31970], Chamon & Sousa 2016:13 [ref. 34852], Chamon & Costa e Silva 2018:507 [ref. 35821]). Current status: Valid as Pseudacanthicus fordii (Günther 1868). Loricariidae: Hypostominae. Distribution: Coastal drainages of Suriname. Habitat: freshwater.
