Bleeker specimens: BMNH 1867.11.28.276 (1) Timor. •Questionably a synonym of Moringua raitaborua (Hamilton 1822) -- (Kottelat 2013:40 [ref. 32989]). •Valid as Moringua macrocephalus (Bleeker 1863) -- (Kuang in Pan et al. 1991:64 [ref. 23876], Zhang et al. 2010:222 [ref. 31511] as Moringua macrocephala, Ho et al. 2015:150 [ref. 34130]). Current status: Valid as Moringua macrocephalus (Bleeker 1863). Moringuidae. Distribution: Western Pacific. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
