Subjectively invalid; secondarily preoccupied in Halichoeres by Julis notophthalmus Bleeker 1847. •Synonym of Halichoeres hortulanus (Lacepède 1801) -- (Parenti & Randall 2000:21 [ref. 24943]). 2°Homonym. Current status: Synonym of Halichoeres hortulanus (Lacepède 1801). Labridae. Habitat: marine.
