Lectotype established by Jordan & Evermann 1896:246 [ref. 2443]; also designated by Gilbert 1998:123 [ref. 23395]. •Synonym of Siphateles bicolor (Girard 1856), but a valid subspecies obesus (Girard 1856) -- (La Rivers 1994:412 [ref. 23389], Moyle 2002:123 [ref. 26449]). •Synonym of Gila bicolor (Girard 1856), but a valid subspecies obesa (Girard 1856) -- (Gilbert 1998:124 [ref. 23395]). •Synonym of Siphateles bicolor (Girard 1856), but a valid subspecies obesa -- (Scharpf 2005:41 [ref. 28940], Page & Burr 2011:172 [ref. 31215]). Current status: Synonym of Siphateles bicolor (Girard 1856). Leuciscidae: Laviniinae. Distribution: Lake Lahontan basin, California and Nevada (U.S.A.) [subspecies obesa]. Habitat: freshwater.
