Based on a drawing sent by van Hasselt, specimen lost. Neotype designated by Kottelat & Lim 1993:234 [ref. 21437]. •Valid as Acantophthalmus oblongus (Valenciennes 1846) -- (Roberts 1989:97 [ref. 6439]). •Valid as Pangio oblonga (Valenciennes 1846) -- (Kottelat et al. 1993:60 [ref. 23448], Kottelat & Lim 1993:234 [ref. 21437], Roberts 1993:26 [ref. 21799], Rainboth 1996:138 [ref. 22772], Doi 1997:15 [ref. 22832], Kottelat 1998:100 [ref. 23436], Kottelat 2001:90 [ref. 25780], Kottelat & Widjanarti 2005:158 [ref. 28284], Britz et al. 2012:48 [ref. 32066], Kottelat 2012:39 [ref. 32367], Valis'eva & Vasil'ev 2012:665 [ref. 32477], Kottelat 2013:183 [ref. 32989], Taki et al. 2021:187 [ref. 39830]). Current status: Valid as Pangio oblonga (Valenciennes 1846). Cobitidae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Sundaland. Habitat: freshwater.
