Lectotype: NMW 47383-1 (1). Paralectotypes: NMW 47381-1 and 3 (2), 47383-2 and 3 (2). Type catalog: Ferraris 2007:133 [ref. 29155]. Species later illustrated and described in more detail in Steindachner 1882:31, Pl. 6 (fig. 3) [ref. 14353]. Current status: Valid as Cetopsis plumbea Steindachner 1882. Cetopsidae: Cetopsinae. Distribution: South America: upper Amazon River basin (Bolivia, Ecuador and Peru). Habitat: freshwater.
