Holotype (unique): BMNH 1867.3.9.497 (right half skin). •Valid as Amblygobius sewardii (Playfair 1867) -- (Golani & Fricke 2018:147 [ref. 36273], Parenti 2021:91 [ref. 38603], Larson 2022:42 [ref. 39971], Bogorodsky & Goren 2023:4 [ref. 40247]). Current status: Valid as Amblygobius sewardii (Playfair 1867). Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Red Sea; western Indian Ocean: East Africa (Mozambique, Tanzania). Habitat: marine.
