W.] 1934:141, Figs. 114-115 [Proceedings of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia v. 86; ref. 1417] Metang [Maetang] River, 35 miles north of Chieng Mai [Chiengmai] Province, northern Thailand. Holotype: ANSP 58940. Paratypes: ANSP 58941-48 (8), 58949 (1 c&s). Type catalog: Monkolprasit 1969:3 [ref. 25088], Böhlke 1984:79 [ref. 13621]. •Synonym of Barilius pulchellus Smith 1931 -- (Kottelat 1984:796 [ref. 11440]). •Valid as Barilius infrafasciatus Fowler 1934 -- (Husain et al. 1993:103 [ref. 24019], Tejavej 2012:158 [ref. 32353]). •Valid as Opsarius infrafasciatus (Fowler 1934) -- (Kottelat 2013:131 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Valid as Opsarius infrafasciatus (Fowler 1934). Danionidae: Chedrinae. Distribution: Thailand. Habitat: freshwater.
