Type catalog: Henn 1928:74 [ref. 12305], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:44 [ref. 12367], Ferraris 2007:174 [ref. 29155] Appeared first as name only in Eigenmann 1910:394 [ref. 1224]. •Valid as Opsodoras leporhinus (Eigenmann 1912) -- (Burgess 1989:222 [ref. 12860]). •Valid as Nemadoras leporhinus (Eigenmann 1912) -- (Sabaj & Ferraris in Reis et al. 2003:463 [ref. 27061], Ferraris 2007:174 [ref. 29155], Sabaj Pérez et al. 2014:151 [ref. 33303], DoNascimiento 2016:531 [ref. 34727]). •Valid as Tenellus leporhinus (Eigenmann 1912) -- (Birindelli 2014:xx [ref. 33501] in Doradinae, Birindelli 2014:538 [ref. 33501], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:89 [ref. 35633]). Current status: Valid as Tenellus leporhinus (Eigenmann 1912). Doradidae: Doradinae. Distribution: Orinoco, Branco and Essequibo River basins, rio Trombetas and Amazonas tributaries draining Brazilian Shield: Brazil, Colombia, Guyana and Venezuela. Habitat: freshwater.
