Also appeared as new in Pellegrin 1909:1016 [ref. 25444]. •Valid as Vandellia wieneri Pellegrin 1909 -- (Ovchynnyk 1967:36 [ref. 37559], Schmidt 1987:235 [ref. 6780], Burgess 1989:324 [ref. 12860]). •Valid as Plectrochilus wieneri (Pellegrin 1909) -- (de Pinna & Wosiacki in Reis et al. 2003:277 [ref. 27061], Ferraris 2007:411 [ref. 29155], Barriga Salazar 2014:111 [ref. 35745], see DoNascimiento et al. 2017:[16] [ref. 35679]). Current status: Valid as Plectrochilus wieneri (Pellegrin 1909). Trichomycteridae: Vandelliinae. Distribution: South America: Napo River basin (Ecuador). Habitat: freshwater.
