Holotype: USNM 70265. Paratypes: (10) USNM 122281-86 (1, 1, 2, 1, 1, 1), 150918 (1). •Valid as Lophiodes infrabrunneus Smith & Radcliffe 1912 -- (Caruso 1981:531 [ref. 5169], Paxton et al. 1989:273 [ref. 12442], Caruso 1999:2008 [ref. 24765], Hutchins 2001:22 [ref. 25847], Paxton et al. 2006:635 [ref. 28994], Ho et al. 2009:63 [ref. 30613], Ho et al. 2011:1735 [ref. 31638], Fricke et al. 2014:34 [ref. 33932]). •Synonym of Lophiodes triradiatus (Lloyd 1909) -- (Ho et al. 2014:587 [ref. 33265], Ho et al. 2016:82 [ref. 35218]). Current status: Synonym of Lophiodes triradiatus (Lloyd 1909). Lophiidae. Distribution: Western Pacific and southeastern Indian Ocean (if valid). Habitat: marine.
