Lockington believes this to be Tetrodon punctatissimus Günther 1870, but proposes the name if the specimen proves distinct. Original genus should have been spelled Tetraodon. •Synonym of Canthigaster punctatissima (Günther 1870) -- (Allen & Randall 1977:496 [ref. 6714]). Current status: Synonym of Canthigaster punctatissima (Günther 1870). Tetraodontidae. Habitat: marine.
