Type catalog and lectotype selected by Ladiges et al. 1958:163 [ref. 19181]. •Synonym of Archamia fucata (Cantor 1849) -- (Gon & Randall 2003:28 [ref. 27133]). •Valid as Taeniamia sansibaricus (Pfeffer 1893) -- (Mabuchi et al. 2014:198 [ref. 33426], Fraser et al. 2022:183 [ref. 39752]). •Valid as Taeniamia sansibarica (Pfeffer 1893) -- (Kuiter & Kozawa 2019:49 [ref. 36965]). Current status: Valid as Taeniamia sansibarica (Pfeffer 1893). Apogonidae: Apogoninae. Distribution: Western Indian Ocean: KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), East Africa (Mozambique, Tanzania) and Gulf of Oman east to Seychelles, Comoros, Madagascar, Maldives and Chagos Archipelago. Habitat: marine.
