Type information: Whitehead 1970:297 [ref. 11606] with a holotype. •Synonym of Megalops cyprinoides (Broussonet 1782) -- (Okada 1961:287 [ref. 6363], Daget 1984:32 [ref. 6170], Paxton et al. 1989:104 [ref. 12442], Zhang 2001:47 [ref. 26586], Paxton et al. 2006:223 [ref. 28995], Larson et al. 2013:23 [ref. 32988], Kottelat 2013:34 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Synonym of Megalops cyprinoides (Broussonet 1782). Megalopidae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
