Not available, name published in synonymy of Mormyrus anguilloides by Linnaeus 1758, but validated back to Linnaeus according to ICZN Art. 11.6.1 by subsequent recognition as a valid species by Walbaum 1792. Based on Hasselquist 1757:398 [ref.30181], a rejected work (ICZN Opinion 57). •Valid as Mormyrus caschive Linnaeus 1758 -- (Gosse 1984:99 [ref. 6169], Neumann et al. 2016:303 [ref. 35036], Akoth et al. 2023:7 [ref. 40069]). Current status: Valid as Mormyrus caschive Linnaeus 1758. Mormyridae. Distribution: East Africa. Habitat: freshwater.
