C.] 1992:380, Fig. 4 [Ichthyological Exploration of Freshwaters v. 3 (no. 4); ref. 20003] Small forest pools about 500 meters from right bank of Río Ventuari, 4°16'N, 66°23'W, Orinoco drainage, Venezuela. Holotype: MCNG 23891. Paratypes: FMNH 100958 (2); MCNG 23892-93 (1, 1). •Valid as Rivulus nicoi Thomerson & Taphorn 1992 -- (Huber 1999:50 [ref. 23834], Lazara 2001:281 [ref. 25711], Costa in Reis et al. 2003:538 [ref. 27061], Costa 2006:153 [ref. 28875] in subgenus Laimosemion, Schindler & Valdesalici 2011:109 [ref. 31382] in subgenus Owiyeye). •Valid as Laimosemion nicoi (Thomerson & Taphorn 1992) -- (Costa 2011:239 [ref. 31655]). Current status: Valid as Laimosemion nicoi (Thomerson & Taphorn 1992). Rivulidae: Rivulinae. Distribution: Orinoco River basin, Venezuela. Habitat: freshwater.
