Paratypes: MNHN 1981-1375 (6), MRAC 78-22-P-136-144 (9), NMW. •Synonym of Aphyosemion ogoense (Pellegrin 1930) -- (Wildekamp et al. 1986:229 [ref. 6198]). •Synonym of Aphyosemion ogoense (Pellegrin 1930), but a valid subspecies pyrophore Huber & Radda 1979 -- (Wildekamp 1993:242 [ref. 26378], Lazara 2001:28 [ref. 25711], van der Zee et al. 2007:215 [ref. 30034], Valdesalici & Eberl 2015:118 [ref. 33901]). •Valid as Aphyosemion pyrophore Huber & Radda 1979 -- (van der Zee et al. 2018:87 [ref. 35718], Fermon et al. 2022:260 [ref. 39448]). Current status: Valid as Aphyosemion pyrophore Huber & Radda 1979. Nothobranchiidae. Distribution: Western-central Africa: southeastern Gabon and Republic of Congo. Habitat: freshwater.
