Paratypes: NMW (2, lost). •Synonym of Aphyosemion cameronense (Boulenger 1903) -- (Wildekamp et al. 1986:205 [ref. 6198]). •Synonym of Aphyosemion cameronense (Boulenger 1903), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Wildekamp 1993:106 [ref. 26378], van der Zee et al. 2007:201 [ref. 30034]). •Valid as Mesoaphyosemion halleri (Radda & Pürzl 1976) -- (Malumbres et al. 2022:7 [ref. 39641]). •Valid as Aphyosemion halleri Radda & Pürzl 1976 -- (Dadaniak et al. 1995:320 [ref. 36170], Lazara 2001:23 [ref. 25711], Sonnenberg & Blum 2005:211 [ref. 28302], Fermon et al. 2022:257 [ref. 39448]). Current status: Valid as Aphyosemion halleri Radda & Pürzl 1976. Nothobranchiidae. Distribution: Western-central Africa: Ntem River basin, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon. Habitat: freshwater.
