lophioides, Chaca Cuvier [G.] & Valenciennes [A.] in Valenciennes 1832:386, Pl. 4 (fig. 2) [Voyage aux Indes-Orientales; ref. 12986] Bengal. Holotype (unique): ? MNHN A-5157 (poor condition). Type catalog: Bertin & Estève 1950:39 [ref. 19575], Ferraris 2007:136 [ref. 29155] as a replacement name with no type. If lophioides is regarded as an unneeded replacement name for Chaca chaca to avoid Stirckland tautonymy, then there is no available holotype. See van Oijen et al. 2009:284 [ref. 30423]. •Mention under Chaca chaca (Hamilton 1822) -- (Talwar & Jhingran 1991:693 [ref. 20764]). •Synonym of Chaca chaca (Hamilton 1822) -- (Menon 1999:263 [ref. 24904], Ataur Rahman 2003:194 [ref. 31338], Jayaram 2006:318 [ref. 28762], Ferraris 2007:136 [ref. 29155]).
