Type as, "We take as the type of this species the description and figure of Thompson, N. H. Verm. 1842 I, 143;" but that does not establish a type specimen; Agassiz had other specimens that we regard as syntypes as well as Thompson's specimen. •Synonym of Coregonus clupeaformis (Mitchill 1818) -- (Scott & Crossman 1998:277 [ref. 24570]). Current status: Synonym of Coregonus clupeaformis (Mitchill 1818). Salmonidae: Coregoninae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
