Holotype: ZSI Pune F/1235. Paratypes: ZSI Pune F/1236 (5). •Valid as Osteobrama bhimensis Singh & Yazdani 1992 -- (Yadav 2000:40 [ref. 25661], Yadav 2003:11 [ref. 27711], Jadhav et al. 2011:2079 [ref. 31547]). •Synonym of Osteobrama vigorsii (Sykes 1839) -- (Jadhav et al. 2011:2078 [ref. 31547] dated 1841). Current status: Synonym of Osteobrama vigorsii (Sykes 1839). Cyprinidae: Smiliogastrinae. Habitat: freshwater.
