Paratypes: MRAC 84-23-10-14 (5). •Valid as Neolamprologus splendens (Brichard 1989) -- (Maréchal & Poll 1991:291 [ref. 20946], Büscher 1997:704 [ref. 23478], Schelly et al. 2003:3 [ref. 27431], Verburg & Bills 2007:39 [ref. 29303], Konings 2015:124 [ref. 34660], Konings 2019:131 [ref. 36983]). Current status: Valid as Neolamprologus splendens (Brichard 1989). Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: Lake Tanganyika. Habitat: freshwater.
