shanensis, Barilius Fowler [H. W.] 1958:12 [Notulae Naturae (Philadelphia) No. 310; ref. 1470] Fort Stedman, elevation 3000 feeet, Nampandet, elevation 2000 feet, Myanmar. Intended as a replacement name for Barilius ornatus of Boulenger 1893:203 [ref. 14522], incorrectly treated by Fowler as a junior homynym of Barilius ornatus Sauvage 1882. Fowler does give a clear citation to Boulenger's account, but Boulenger gave no description (unavailable); so Art. 13.1.3 of the Code apparently does not apply and Fowler's name is not available. •In the synonymy of Barilius barnoides Vinciguerra 1890 -- (Talwar & Jhingran 1991:345 [ref. 20764]). •In the synonymy of Opsarius barnoides (Vinciguera 1890) -- (Kottelat 2013:131 [ref. 32989]). Nomen Nudum. Current status: Synonym of Opsarius barnoides (Vinciguerra 1890). Danionidae: Chedrinae.
