Original genus should have been Macrourus. Appeared as, "The specimens from station 3417 are hardly identical in variety with those from station 3384; they are closely allied but differ in that the former (M. vagrans) is darker in color, and has less of the silver tint." •Synonym of Coryphaenoides capito (Garman 1899) -- (Iwamoto & Sazonov 1988:62 [ref. 6228]).
