Pacific, Suva Harbor, Fiji Islands, depth 26 meters. Holotype: ROM 54938. Paratypes: AMS I.27283-001 (1), ROM 54937 (2), URM P.12504 (1). •Valid as Valenciennea limicola Hoese & Larson 1994 -- (Larson in Randall & Lim 2000:640 [ref. 25122], Laboute & Grandperrin 2000:415 [ref. 25191], Larson & Murdy 2001:3600 [ref. 26293], Allen & Adrim 2003:60 [ref. 26830], Randall 2005:556 [ref. 28239], Dimara et al. 2010:621 [ref. 31108], Suzuki et al. 2011:61 [ref. 31568], Allen & Erdmann 2012:987 [ref. 31980], Fricke et al. 2014:175 [ref. 33932], Suzuki et al. 2016:2 [ref. 34434], Parenti 2021:249 [ref. 38603], Allen et al. 2024:1359 [ref. 40796]). Current status: Valid as Valenciennea limicola Hoese & Larson 1994. Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Indonesia and Papua New Guinea east to Fiji, north to Gulf of Thailand (Thailand). Habitat: brackish, marine.
