Current status: Valid as Sicyopus auxilimentus Watson & Kottelat 1994. Oxudercidae: Sicydiinae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Ryukyu Islands (Japan) to Philippines [amphidromous]. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
